Description

  • A spooky twist on the classic margarita, this Halloween version blends tequila with apple cider syrup, lime, and dramatic garnishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 2 ounces tequila reposado (or blanco)
  2. 1 ounce apple cider syrup
  3. ½ ounce lime juice
  4. Kosher salt or black colored sugar, for the rim
  5. Blood orange slice, for garnish (optional)
  6. Clear ice, for serving
  7. Halloween cocktail picks (optional)
  8. For the apple cider syrup:
  9. 4 cups apple cider
  10. ¼ cup granulated sugar
  11. 4 cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  • Make the apple cider syrup: Place apple cider, sugar, and cinnamon sticks in a saucepan. Bring to a low boil and reduce for 30–35 minutes until you have ¾ cup syrup.
  • Prepare the glass: Run a lime wedge around the rim and dip it in salt or black sugar.
  • Make the drink: Add tequila, cider syrup, and lime juice to a shaker with ice. Shake until chilled.
  • Strain into the prepared glass filled with clear ice.
  • Garnish with blood orange and cocktail pick if desired.

Notes

  1. Make the syrup ahead it stores for 2 weeks in the fridge.
  2. For a non-alcoholic version, swap tequila with ginger beer or pomegranate juice.
