- This creamy ground turkey pasta is a fast, flavorful dinner perfect for busy nights. Made with penne, turkey, tomato sauce, and melty cheese, it’s cozy and meal-prep ready.

- 12 oz penne pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large yellow onion, diced
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 2 tsp salt (divided)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 (15-oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup half and half
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1 cup shredded cheddar
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring salted water to a boil and cook pasta 1–2 minutes under package instructions.
- Reserve 1 cup pasta water and drain pasta.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet and sauté diced onion for 5 minutes.
- Add ground turkey and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned.
- Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute. Sprinkle flour over turkey and mix.
- Pour in chicken broth and tomato sauce. Bring to simmer.
- Add pasta and half and half to the pan. Stir to combine.
- Adjust with pasta water as needed. Season to taste.
- Stir in half of the cheese. Top with remaining cheese.
- Cover and cook until cheese melts. Garnish and serve.
Notes
- Use heavy cream for a richer version.
- Add spinach or mushrooms to increase vegetables.
- To make ahead, prepare and refrigerate before adding final cheese.
