Instructions

  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  • Mix in vanilla, almond extract, and optional lemon zest.
  • In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add dry ingredients to wet mixture in batches.
  • Stir in green gel coloring to desired tone.
  • Pour into pans and bake 25–35 mins.
  • Let cool fully, then trim and shape if needed.
  • Crumb coat, chill, then apply final frosting.
  • Smooth sides, add message and accents.
