- This sweet potato casserole with pecan topping is the perfect make-ahead side dish for your holiday table. It’s rich, creamy, and finished with a crunchy pecan streusel that adds just the right amount of texture and sweetness.

- 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 3 large potatoes)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Topping:
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the sweet potato mixture into the prepared dish and smooth the top.
- In a separate bowl, mix together pecans, brown sugar, flour, and melted butter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the topping is golden and the casserole is set.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- This dish can be made up to 2 days in advance. Assemble and store covered in the fridge, then bake just before serving. You can also freeze it after baking and reheat in the oven.
