- This moist cranberry orange christmas bread is bursting with citrus zest and tart cranberries. A festive favorite, it’s perfect for brunch, gifting, or cozying up with a warm drink.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temp)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 3/4 cup orange juice (fresh)
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in orange zest, juice, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in cranberries gently.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optionally drizzle with orange glaze before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh cranberries for a bright tartness or frozen ones if fresh are unavailable.
- To make a glaze, mix 1 cup powdered sugar with 2 tbsp orange juice.
