Description

  • This quick and healthy Chinese chicken stir-fry is perfect for busy weeknights. Packed with lean protein, crisp vegetables, and a savory garlic-ginger sauce, it’s a flavorful and comforting dish made in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced thin
  2. 2 cups broccoli florets
  3. 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  4. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  5. 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  6. 2 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium)
  7. 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  8. 1 tsp sesame oil
  9. 1 tbsp cornstarch
  10. 2 tbsp water
  11. 1 tbsp neutral oil (like avocado or canola)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, cornstarch, and water to form the sauce.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add chicken slices and cook until golden and cooked through (about 4–5 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  • Add garlic and ginger to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds.
  • Add broccoli and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Return chicken to the skillet and pour in the sauce.
  • Stir everything together until evenly coated and sauce thickens.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  1. Cut chicken thin so it cooks evenly and quickly.
  2. Prep all ingredients before starting as stir-frying moves fast.
  3. You can substitute vegetables with snow peas, carrots, or snap peas.
  4. Add chili flakes or sriracha if you prefer heat.
